What's
New
Since
Rich and Rob purchased the Carriage Trade Inn in March, 2006,
they have tried to keep the century-old charm of the B&B while
making a variety of improvements.
The
breakfast served at the B&B is now a full breakfast, with
an extensive cold buffet of fruit, yogurt, cereals, juice, coffee,
and a fresh-baked good each morning. In addition to the cold buffet,
the B&B also serves two hot entrees, which change day-by-day,
but always include an egg dish and a waffle/pancake/French toast
entrée. To make these hot breakfasts, Rob has re-opened
the large commercial kitchen that is on-site.
The
B&B now has wireless internet throughout the house and a guest
laptop computer available in the living room for those quick checks
of email and the web.
Rob
and Rich added a 42” television to the living room, perfect
for sports and movies. They have also added a ten-person whirlpool
spa located at the rear of the building, next to the gardens.
The
B&B keeps the refrigerator in the convenience kitchen well-stocked
with water and soda for the comfort of the guests.
Recognition
On
July 14, 2006, the New York Times did a lengthy piece on the “new”
and “trendy” gay vacation spots. The article concluded
with a look at Ogunquit. The Times went on to recommend just two
places to stay in Ogunquit, one of which was the Carriage Trade
Inn! Needless to say, we were thrilled with the recognition.
Several
weeks earlier, InNewsweekly printed a lengthy interview with Rob
and Rich regarding their purchase of the B&B.
